Jiu-Jitsu is a martial art that provides more than skills for practical self-defense and sport. We mention throughout our website and in class, that our art provides a multitude of benefits to practitioners. This couldn’t be more relevant and important as it is now during a pandemic.

The pandemic and has had major fallout including impact on lives & lifestyles. Our condolences go out to all of those who’s loved ones, friends and family were hurt or lost during this time. Almost everyone has experienced these impacts indirectly or first-hand. It can be very stressful and can take a toll on emotions and physical health.

On top of the impact to lives, it has also impacted businesses, schools, recreation, entertainment and more. We all are striving for some form of “normalcy” in our lives and communities right now. Working on your health and fitness, be it outdoors or in gyms, is one way to help yourself and your communities.

Businesses like gyms, event venues, and restaurants are just a few that have been hit hard and it is important that people can help keep them moving while also receiving the products or services that the business offers.

Many gyms are back to 50% capacity and are practicing strict safety guidelines, making it easy for those who are comfortable returning to training and still meet the recommendations from the CDC and local health departments.

This is just a first step in improving your fitness & health, and maintaining it which can have huge benefits in the fight against many illnesses, viruses and diseases. We talk about self-defense and defending your body from illnesses is part of that. A healthy body and mind can improve your defense mechanisms against illnesses.
